As the Human Rights and Sustainability Coordinator you accelerate the human rights and transparency efforts within Fenix Outdoors supply chain management. By that you will support the implementation of the due diligence regulations and necessary ambitious goals of Fenix Outdoor and our obligations under various organizations’ membership requirements.
Joining Fenix Outdoor International AG will mean for you, working with well-known outdoor brands like Fjällräven, Tierra and Royal Robbins.
The role is a full-time position based in Stockholm, Sweden or Hamburg, Germany and reports to the Global Director Sustainability – Sourcing and Production Unit.
You will work closely with all other teams in the Fenix Outdoor Sourcing and Production Unit, the brands individual organizations, the global Corporate Sustainability Responsibility (CSR) team and participate in cross-functional collaborations with other departments, to identify the opportunities to strengthen the sustainability agenda. Therefore, a high intercultural and communications competence is needed.
As the Human Rights and Sustainability Coordinator, you will work within a strong interdisciplinary team. You will especially support the Global Sustainability Director and the social auditor team in Asia to strengthen the work on Human Rights and Transparency to make Fenix Outdoor a leading and the most sustainable outdoor company in this field.
Key responsibilities
- Support human rights procedures such as social compliance audits, assessments (such as Higg Facility Social Labor Module (FSLM) or Social Labor Convergence Project (SLCP)) and risk analysis and find ways to go beyond “normal” compliance
- Engage with living wage initiatives and encourage suppliers to meet the Global Living Wage Coalition Standard (GLWC) and the Fair Labor Association (FLA) requirements
- Strengthen the development of traceability / transparency of products and support the certification management
- Monitor regulations on scientific research, legislation and policies around human rights and transparency e.g., supply chain acts etc.
- Stay ahead of reporting needs and coordinate commitment of the FLA or Sustainable Apparel Coalition (SAC)
- Collaborate with other sourcing and production teams to integrate data and inputs around social compliance and certification management into our existing systems (Product lifecycle management/PLM, Trustrace, etc.).
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- As a Human Rights and Sustainability Coordinator you will plan and follow-up audits and/or Higg FSLM/SLCP, analyze gaps and possibilities to strengthen the social compliance program and do audit planning together with our auditors
- Ensure proper data input
- Manage and further develop the sustainable supplier scorecard evaluation
- Drive projects around living wages, and worker education in partnership with suppliers
- Find ways together with suppliers and other stakeholder to meet the GLWC benchmark
- Push the journey to gain more transparency through traceability engagement
- Support various reporting (CSR report, SAC requirements, FLA assessments, Fashion Transparency survey etc.)
- Support and set up trainings for supplier and/or internal staff
- Initiate and drive projects to push sustainability with stakeholder
- Support supplier in the above-described topics
- Travel is part of the job (upon agreement)
WHO YOU ARE
- Preferably you hold a university degree in sustainability, human rights; culture studies, law, economics, or other studies related to sustainability
- You bring a solid understanding of the marketplace and global factors
- Minimum of one year work experience in a sustainability area, preferably with human rights / social compliance background e.g. working conditions in production countries; understanding of global supply chains
- Ability to simplify complex information and cooperate with teams and external stakeholders
- Experience in working with Excel
- Strong project management skills and entrepreneurial mindset
- Fluent in English, other languages are a benefit
- Well organized and structured working behaviour, reliable and solution-oriented thinking
