The journey of Fenix Outdoor

1960
Fjällräven

The first seed to what would later become the foundation for the Fenix Outdoor Group was planted already back in 1960 by Åke Nordin.

Fjällräven is Swedish for Arctic Fox, honoring the small and highly adaptable predator that lives in the Swedish mountains under the harshest conditions. Since the start Fjällräven has developed timeless, functional and sustainable outdoor equipment and are committed to making nature more accessible to all.

Primus

Primus’s core products groups are stoves, lanterns and fuel. There are core products in each of the three segments: Expedition, Trekking and Campfire.

The foundation of Primus dates back to Frans Wilhelm Lindqvist's pioneering innovation, the first soot-free kerosene kitchen from 1892. The kitchen had better heat capacity than the competition and quickly became a popular product, not least during expeditions. Primus was used, for example, at Roald Amundsen's pioneer expedition to the South Pole in 1911 and the first ascent of Mount Everest in 1953.
