Merchandise Manager (m/f/d)
As the next Merchandise Manager DTC, you will play an integral part in merchandise planning and developing strategies for DTC!
We are looking for a talented individual to support our Direct to Consumer (DTC) business across Fenix Outdoor Brands eCommerce and brick & mortar channels throughout Europe. This role manages the European Retail Buying & Allocations function.
As the next Merchandise Manager DTC, you will bring a positive mindset and be proactive in anticipating obstacles within the business. The role plays an integral part in merchandise planning and developing strategies for DTC and is responsible for creating and presenting budgets/strategies for approval of seasonal buys. You will also work closely with the Marketing team on brand agendas, seasonal launches, key stories, seasonal imagery, and all product-focused initiatives as well as the Product & Merchandising team to inform product needs and trends in the DTC channels.
This full-time opportunity will be based from our Munich, DE office and reports through to Senior Director of Merchandising, Planning and Allocations.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
In more detail you will focus on the following:
- Oversee all buying, planning and implementation of merchandising strategies for EU DTC channels (Brick & Mortar & E-commerce).
- Lead, coach, and support Retail Buyers to achieve key department goals.
- Manage merchandise assortments that meet sales budgets and showcase the brand and culture of the company in DTC channels.
- Track, report, and provide guidance that optimizes product planning and performance.
- Ensure on-time and seamless seasonal product launches and rollouts for DTC channels.
- Work cross-departmentally with Marketing, Retail, eCommerce, and Operations teams to ensure the unity of marketing and in-store initiatives are aligned and launched effectively and on-time.
- Provide support and assistance to Senior Director of Merchandising and Planning and Director of Planning to reach shared objectives.
- Oversee and ensure all DTC product initiatives are executed to a high standard and within the agreed timeline.
- Collaborate with EU merchandising team to ensure product needs are met and assortment gaps in EU line are addressed to create a complete assortment.
- Maintain communication across departments regarding stock levels and flag for sales opportunities.
- Create, present, and gain approval on buy budgets and assortment plans from executive stakeholders.
- Participate and support the launch and rollout of our new ERP system.
- Present DTC product analysis and reports to all key stakeholders on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Manage DTC product lifecycle from purchase to allocation, to in-season, to outlet sell-out strategy.
- Create on-brand sales and effective promotions strategies while maintaining brand integrity and margin expectations.
- Maintaining seasonal price lists across all brands and sales channels.
WHO YOU ARE
We think you could be a great match for the position if you possess the following traits and capabilities:
- Bachelor’s degree in business management, operations, merchandising, or related field.
- Significant demonstrated experience within DTC buying, planning and allocations.
- You are an effective communicator and enjoy working in a cross functional team.
- In depth market knowledge and awareness of trends and market behaviors.
- An engaging and motivated leader. You enjoy managing teams and supporting individual learning and development.
- You have an analytical mindset and can reliably validate and manipulate data.
- Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multi-task, and work under shifting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- You are a curios individual with strong business acumen and a proactive mindset to take initiative to drive improvements.
- Strong Microsoft Office aptitude in particular Excel.
- Fluency in our corporate language, English.
